Ally Shabani's Story
My name is Ally Shabani, I am from Singida in Manyara; I used to live with my mother and Grandmother. My mother left and left me with my Grandmother
My grandmother raised me till I was older. I told her to take me to school. She then said that she did not have any money. I insisted that she take me and she said that she did not have my birth certificate and said my mother had it.
When my mother returned I asked for my Birth Certificate but she said she lost it.
When my mother came back to Singida, she became sick and then died. When she died we came to Arusha with my Grandmother to stay at my uncle's house.
We stayed until we were older and decided to leave home
I escaped and then came to town and stayed there for a day and then met up with a teacher from CCF. He brought me to CCF in 2000
I stayed at CCF till 2001 and we were taken to school in Manyara. We stayed here but there were problems with water , food , and had insects and then I ran away again.
I came back to CCF and stayed. When I came back to CCF and then I was taken to Ngarenaro School and up to now I am studying in class 7.
How can you help?
It doesn't take much to make a difference in the lives of these and other children.
