Emmanuel's Story

My name is Emmanuel. I am from Arusha in the village of Tengem. I was born into a poor family. My mother and father were not educated. There are 6 of us in our family and I am the last child. My father has 2 wives. I lived with my stepmother step mother when I was 10. I like to walk a lot with my father.

I want to be a tour guide so I can help other street children as I have been helped. I had difficulties finishing school because I would go to school without even eating and you cant succeed without eating.

My mother tried to help me by borrowing food from others so I could eat.

After my father died my mother dint have the ability to look for food. So it was best for all of us to separate. Each person went on hi way. There are some of my bothers whose whereabouts are unknown even now.

My mother is at home right now by her self and she has no work.
